Reminds me of Swift's 18th c. "A Modest Proposal" in which he proposes eating babies to alleviate poverty. Isn't it uplifting to think we still have great minds today?
Yeah- those guys are great. I wonder though, if they actually get any of those people to think or make change.

I doubt their stunts get those people to think -- not when billions of dollars are waiting to be and already have been made. Not when the masses continue to be willingly blind and pillaged. BUT at least the Yes Men are out there doing something. And they're continuing a tradition of satirical opposition -- I think it's great.
ReplyDeletePolitical satirical comedy does have an important role. They help the swing voters. The Yes Men are your Stephen Colbert's. They inform those who follow their political views just as much as they piss off the others.
